BASIS Local Market & e-Governance Committee: Meeting Highlights

The second meeting of the BASIS Standing Committee on Local Market & e-Governance was held at the BASIS Boardroom on April 4, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
The meeting was chaired by Md. Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of Sky Digital (BD) Limited, in his capacity as Chairman. He welcomed all attending members. The meeting was attended by the Co-Chairmen: Mr. Md. Rashedul Islam, Managing Director of E-Medical Software Limited; Mr. Naweed Hussain, Managing Director of Global Info-Tech Systems Ltd.; and Mr. Husna Zaman Al Hadi, Managing Director of Techbee Solutions Limited.
The session also included committee members: Mr. Rafiqul Hassan, Chairman and CMO of Cloudy Camp Limited; Mr. Md. Shahidul Islam, Managing Director of Smart Software Limited; Mr. Asraful Hoque Lemon, Managing Director of Teamexus Solutions Ltd.; and Mr. Areez Afsar Khan, Managing Partner of Valiant Technologies. Additionally, the Member-in-Charge, Mr. A. H. M. Rokmunur Zaman Rony, Proprietor of HRSOFTBD, was present at the meeting.
The deliberations primarily focused on identifying key challenges and opportunities in the local software market, discouraging the use of foreign software, and improving the quality standards of local solutions. The committee also emphasized enhancing member engagement within BASIS and promoting domain-specific initiatives through seminars and workshops.
Furthermore, the committee highlighted the importance of establishing a dedicated Tax Desk at BASIS to support NBR filing procedures. Discussions were also held on formulating recommendations regarding the Public Procurement Rules (PPR), encouraging members to submit consolidated draft proposals, and upgrading the BASIS SaaS product enlistment database with improved search functionality.
The meeting was facilitated by the Secretariat-in-Charge, Mr. Abdullah-Al-Kaiser Munna, Executive, Member Service, BASIS, along with Md. Rafiul Islam, Assistant Manager, Content & Communications.
